The Fun Side

So Coach has finally talked me into coming to the "Fun Side" instead of the "Dark Side".
So I am now coaching basketball instead of officiating it this year.

I've only been to a couple of practices because i was out of town or had made previous commitments, and tomorrow is our first game!!

I'm really not sure how well I'm doing.  I know the game and the rules, but coaching it isn't something I've ever done.  It definitely is different.  Coach thinks I'm doing well, but he has been wanting me to coach for a long time now.

We are coaching together, an 8th and 7th grade team.  It is actually fun, but this is his first year coaching girls, which I've noticed he is a little softer of a coach with them than he is with the boys.  I think he doesn't want to make any girls cry. We are at the opposite school that Coach normally coaches at, but the girls are still pretty great.  We have a 6'3 girl on our 8th grade team that is a huge bonus!!!

Our poor boy is just being conditioned to be a ball player. If I can coach with Coach at CJ for the boys, then I am there, so there is no getting around not knowing the sport.  He is a really good sport about having to hang out for 2 hours and being ignored though!!

So for the next couple of months I'm trying to come up with crock-pot dinners and anything else that is fast and as healthy as I can make it. With Coach still in school and night classes and coaching and Church callings and work, plus my work, the only time I get to see him his at practice, so it has been sort of nice.
