Drawer Designs

I am no master wood carver at all.  In fact this was really my first time ever!!  So I wish it looked more clean and professional, but I did it and I still think it looks alright.  I really had this whole design thing in my head from the beginning, so I probably should have been practicing, but I apparently don't operate that way.

My Projects

My dresser broke awhile back and I decided that I was going to build me a new one.  Since I'm building one, why not a set? Three dressers it is!!
Coach told me to take pictures through the process..so I'm posting some of the photos I've taken.  I forget to take the camera, mostly because it is so dusty with all the sanding I've been doing.

So now I have all the dresser drawer fronts sanded and routed (ready for some extra detailing and staining) I'll post pictures of them soon, I forgot my camera today.  Plus we have the the last dresser face done, and the sides of the smaller dresser cut out and pocket drilled.

Yep..its Chrome :-)

Branding

Last Saturday we branded calves.  I strapped Big T on my back and we got in the corral and took photos. Trying to stay out of the way at times proved tricky; I ran Big T into a broke off fence log, I almost landed on Big T, but I caught my balance pretty quickly (stupid calf!!).  Through it all, Big T loved it!!  He would stand on the bottom bar and look over my head, and try to climb up my back to get and even better look.   I had a sore back after branding too!!  I did miss throwing down calves, ya know getting my tuff on!

So here are just some photos I managed to get.... (didn't want to bore you with more, I have a habit of posting lots of photos :-) )
Nathan (my sister's hubby) lovin' the smoke.....hehe

I think this was the calf I was moving out of the way for when I took Big T out
This time the calf was showing Dylan and Thomas who was boss...hahaha
My tough little sister :-)
How many people does it take to take down a calf?
That was the first bunch of calves branded, Big T went and took a nap so we missed the second batch, but Big T did get to visit some baby bum lambs.

My Coat-Rack

So I decided awhile ago that I needed a coat-rack by the backdoor. Tristan and I always strip there and it would just be very useful.

So I welded myself a coat rack!!  Mind you, I haven't welded since high school, so like 10 years ago; I'm very rusty. It was funny, I'd ask my dad after my welds if they were okay and he would say " It'll hold!"
I think he did compliment me on one weld, it wasn't good but better than some of the others!!

This is the top part (obviously)
I added a couple "hooks" down lower for Big T
This is the bottom, First we had only the disc, but that wasn't going to hold so I found an old brake drum and then we decided to put the disk on top. We Dad cut the hole bigger in the disk and dropped the post through, then bolted the disc on.  Then Dad welded the two horseshoes on the bottom.

On the disc part, we put on my name.  Okay, I've never used a cutting torch before, so it was a little interesting, Dad did the first 2 letters. I did the last 5 five...the first one I did atleast looked good :-)

Now I just need to tidy it up some...and then probably paint it.  The pics make it look crooked, but it really isn't.

It Works!!
Cute pics of Big T....he knows how to get it to go!!

Cows?!!

Cows?!!
This has been pretty much are life for the last week.  Big T wakes up and its "Cows?!!"  He says it as a question and also a statement.  So we go look out the window in the morning at the cows, and then in the afternoon we take him outside to go and stare at the cows.  Literally he just stands there and stares at them completely content to do so.  Every once in awhile he'll point to them and say "Cows!" He says it so clearly, so grown up, its heart melting.  Then even in the evenings its "Cows?!" so back to the window he goes to look out at them.
It was very windy, so I bundled him up..hehe
checkin' out the cows!!

Climbed on fence to get a better look :-)

After we came inside, I was working on something and was so into it that i sort of forgot to check on Big T......
He go into Grandma's markers!!!  This is one of those markers that has a scent
(and apparently a taste...)  I believe it was cinnamon.

What a Boy!!
