Baby Neigh's

Big T has yet to call a Horse a Horse.  He insists on calling them Neigh's ( ya know what a horse says).
My oldest sister came up to Idaho to pick up some nice bloodline cutting horses for her employer and she was able to make a visit out of it :-).  Which was great for Big T, he got to beat up on his Nephews who are 14 and 13, and hang out with his Auntie, oh yeah and he got to love on the baby foals!!!

Branding

Last Saturday we branded calves.  I strapped Big T on my back and we got in the corral and took photos. Trying to stay out of the way at times proved tricky; I ran Big T into a broke off fence log, I almost landed on Big T, but I caught my balance pretty quickly (stupid calf!!).  Through it all, Big T loved it!!  He would stand on the bottom bar and look over my head, and try to climb up my back to get and even better look.   I had a sore back after branding too!!  I did miss throwing down calves, ya know getting my tuff on!

So here are just some photos I managed to get.... (didn't want to bore you with more, I have a habit of posting lots of photos :-) )

That was the first bunch of calves branded, Big T went and took a nap so we missed the second batch, but Big T did get to visit some baby bum lambs.

Cows?!!

Cows?!!
This has been pretty much are life for the last week.  Big T wakes up and its "Cows?!!"  He says it as a question and also a statement.  So we go look out the window in the morning at the cows, and then in the afternoon we take him outside to go and stare at the cows.  Literally he just stands there and stares at them completely content to do so.  Every once in awhile he'll point to them and say "Cows!" He says it so clearly, so grown up, its heart melting.  Then even in the evenings its "Cows?!" so back to the window he goes to look out at them.

After we came inside, I was working on something and was so into it that i sort of forgot to check on Big T......

He go into Grandma's markers!!!  This is one of those markers that has a scent
(and apparently a taste...)  I believe it was cinnamon.

What a Boy!!

Mother's Day Weekend

This weekend we went to my parents in Idaho for Mother's Day. I wanted to surprise my mom, but Coach slipped-up on facebook. :-(  No worries though, we still had a great time and got to enjoy being there!
Coach was able to get his bike up and running and the oil changed in both of ours.  They are now home with us for the summer...yeah! Hopefully I will get a chance to ride.  Coach also helped feed the cows with my dad and grandpa, his overalls were a little short. He finally got to experience the itchy feeling of the hay all over in your shirt.
We got to see some of Big T while we were there.  Grandma just loved him and they had lots of fun together.  He took to grandpa better, but that is because they have a special bond.

I love the spring when there are baby animals everywhere! This weekend Big T and Coach were introduced to baby lambs!! I just loved them, they were so small and a hoot to watch. They would jump up and kick their back legs and jump on each other. Such young spirits!

I was a huge fan of these twins they were the smallest ones in the bunch.

We caught, well my mom (Grandma) caught the black twin so Big T could pet him. Coach and I wanted to as well.

The little guy was such a big sport for letting us hold him!

Coach and I fed the yearlings on Sunday, well Coach fed and I did other things.

As a little girl I would wait until all the cows were eating and then i would run by them and scare them all away.  It was cool to see them all jump back and I loved the sound of them pulling their heads out of the gate and running through the muck all at once.

 I thought I needed to give it another try to see if I still enjoyed it.
