Lemonade!??

You know that saying "If life gives you Lemons make Lemonade!"  Well Lemonde still makes my face pucker.

Life definitely hasn't turned out the way I had planned, or imagined.  Of course when you are a little girl you don't realize that life is harder when you're older, that adults have challenges.
As an adult I've learned that you can never escape consequences.  That you can't pick and choose what you want for you "picture perfect" life.  I've learned that discipline is not as easy as my parents made it seem or as enjoyable ;-).  I've learned that not getting that certain gift you wanted so badly as a kid had nothing to do with the thoughts they don't want you "spoiled" and everything to do with finances..ugh!!   I've learned that the ones you love the most truly can hurt you the most, the mean girls at school got nothing!!  I've learned what stress, depression, and disappointment really are!!  I've learned what all comes with remorse.

Yes..Life is hard, it gives you lemons; like only being able to have one child instead of a house full like you always dreamed. Or other health problems that you never thought you'd get, especially at a young age.

But...we must make Lemonade, or in my case Tang!!
I may only have one child, but he is such a special blessing.  I'm actually shocked that God allowed us to be his parents, I'm truly Honored to be his Mommy!!  He is a handful of mischief, energy, and humor!!
I get to be an adult!  I don't have to have a curfew, or eat the veggies I don't like!  I can eat ice cream befor my dinner, or my lunch ( lets face it my breakfast too)!  I can decorate my own home, and make my own rules.  For me, as an adult is where I made my friendships that really matter!! ( And they are awesome friends!!!)  I've learned more about the Gospel and what it really entails and has to offer!!  I learned to stand up for myself and have confidence ( that still falters here and there), but I know what it looks like.  I've learned to budget ( sometimes better than other times) and then I get to buy things that I really want, or safe up for trips I want to go on!!
I have experienced unconditional love unlike anything I've ever know as a girl.
I have experienced Heaven on Earth, and been able to recognize it!!

Being an adult with trials you never would have picked for yourself in the long run is worth it, if just for that glimpse of Heaven on Earth. And I promise they come, to everyone!!

O Remember, Remember

This weekend was such a great weekend, filled with messages of Hope, Help, and Love. My folks and I were able to go to the Saturday morning session in the Conference Center.  It was a neat experience, I've never sung with a congregation that big before!  Of course there was so much more great things in the messages of General Conference, but as Elder Jeffery R Holland put it as long as they teach by the Spirit, and we listen by the Spirit each one of us will get something personally out of the talks!!  I know this to be true, and it was confirmed by reading other blogs.
Now I need to take Alma's words to his son Helaman and "Remember, Remember" and burn the messages into my heart to stay.

On another note.....
I read and hear of people deciding to run, or how much they love to run.  I then think to myself, I used to run, how come I don't run anymore?
My junior year in high school I was in a tragic car accident ( I was not the only one in the vehicle).  I was ejected from the car and severed my left achilles tendon, busted the heel bone of the left foot, had my left pinky toe sewn back on, banged up my left knee pretty bad, broke my tailbone, and had numerous stitches on left leg and my buttocks. I got lots of scrapes on my right leg, but nothing that required stitches, my left leg took the beating!!
After 3 months in a wheel chair, another 2 ish months on crutches, and another 2/3 months in a boot I was able to use my leg again.  I did water therapy for exercise which was tougher than I thought water workouts were.  My senior year I decided to run x-country.  I wasn't the fastest, but I ran and then iced and stretched and worked out my heel every night.  I actually ended up placing 7th (in JV) at the last race...yeah me!!
In college I started running less and less, it seemed like I only ran when I need to pound out my frustration on the pavement.  Then after college I hardly ran at all, and when I did I got some bad shin splints ( probably from not properly stretching ).  When I got married it was alot of just sports, Ultimate Frisbee, Basketball, and some others.  I LOVE doing sports, I always have and always did and always will.
Now that you have some background on me, I'll continue my actual running story.
Yesterday I wanted to go for a run, everyone else seemed to be running, so I supposed I should.  About a half a mile into my run my left knee started to kill me!!  I had no steps in between starting to hurt to killing me , just starting to hurt to BAM I'm limping!!!  Then I Remembered, that it has been hurting on my runs since after college, it just took longer for me to feel the pain and hurt than it did yesterday.  I've tried a brace on it and it didn't help. Yet it doesn't make any sense to me that when I play sports, or even when I was refereeing basketball, I don't notice any pain in my knee at all!!
I did my parents eliptical today and there was no pain either, in the knee, my Lungs is a totally different story.
How could I not remember that my left knee hurts when I run...."that is why we don't run Cami, you need to stop trying to run like everyone else and accept where your limits are!!"

To most of you this probably seems like some random crap, but for me my running story is also a metaphor for other, somewhat deeper things in my life and how the talks at General Conference helped me.   We all have different experiences in our life and they sort of shape and mold us into who we are, but even the bad experiences can (eventually) be shaped into something good.  It just may be doing sports, instead of running!

Death..atleast it felt like it

Monday night, I started to feel kind-of "icky", my stomach started to hurt.  Oh ya!! last time I felt this way it lasted for almost 2 weeks.  Did I also mention that the day I felt that way I was headed to my parents house.  I drove there throwing up and stopping on the side of the road to do the bathroom duties..in the middle of nowhere!!!  Just cuz I know you all wanted to know that :-)

Anywho...
I planned on leaving for my parents on Tuesday ( weird huh..must be a sign) but that Monday night/ Tuesday morning I was up the whole time puking my guts out, and the other way.  Want a great ab workout...throw up or dry heave!!  When Big T woke up, he had also been throwing up at nights a couple of days ago, now he has horrible diarrhea and was covered, but I barely got him out of his crib until I had to run to the bathroom.  After that I was so dizzy and hurting I couldn't even move.  There was my son screaming because he was covered in stink and I had to just lay there and listen to him...I honestly felt like death was at the door!!  I eventually got the diaper changed and him cleaned up, pretty much with us both laying on the floor.  What I would have killed for to have Coach home at that moment, only God knows.
I did the unthinkable (in my book) and called a friend to see if my Sick Kid could go hang with her kids for awhile, which turned out to be the day.  Thank goodness she is awesome!! Her husband came picked up Big T and dropped off some Bananas, 7-up, and Pepto-Bismo ( he is awesome too) !!  I was able to sleep,  continue my bathroom runs without a head poking in between my arm and the toilet, and Big T was able to get his diapers changed and fed properly.

I can not afford to be this sick, in fact I needed it to be gone um..yesterday, so that night, I finally decided I needed some Higher Power.  Yeah for extremely close neighbors that have the Priesthood.

This morning I woke up and had energy, well more than absolutely none.  My stomach wasn't queasy and everything seemed to be in check. I packed up the vehicle and made it safely
(even with no brakes :-) ) to Idaho.
I'm so grateful that my Heavenly Father was mindful of me last night, and for today's travel!

Old Photos from the HP

My power cord to my laptop, which is my main computer, broke. well it ripped.  I suppose with a year of Big T pulling on it I'm not surprised.

So I had to resort back to the old desktop.  Mostly just to email Coach...yeah, I can't lie I'm probably addicted to the computer, whether it is facebooking, blogging (actually blog stalking), or deal searching.  I'm annoyed that this computer is so slow...see addicted!

Anywho, since I was here I was checking around at the documents and what I had on this computer and I found some fun old pictures... I'm going to share them!
